We'll be blogging some of the training rides to share how much work goes into that one day in June.

This is from Sunday morning, in a light Vancouver rain — about 55 riders came out for the training ride. Today's plan is to work on group riding skills.

Its Monday morning and I just spent my first few minutes in the office looking at the pictures and reading the comments on the blog for this year's ride. What an inspirational way to start my week!

It takes incredible courage and commitment to do what you all did - riders and volunteers alike. This event is a monumental testament to the power of what a collective group of people can do to accomplish good. Each and every one of you has given something invaluable to society and in particular, those whose journey unfortunately include cancer.

You are all fighters in the battle against cancer. Thank you. None of what we do could ever be accomplished without people of character and commitment like you.

Personally and on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society, thank you.
