The Route

alt

The following map shows our route

Should you talk with any of the riders or volunteers from past rides, you will find that the actual physical ride was only a small portion of the event... fundraising, training, getting immersed in the cause and finally riding. The physical demands of the ride are one thing but the impact of the purpose of the ride and the stories of how fellow volunteers and riders have dealt with cancer in their lives is both inspirational and highly emotional.

This ride is somewhat unique in that we have a fixed start and finish time... 3:30AM to 10PM... and in that time we need to deal with conditions and manipulate rest times and pace to ensure our goal is met. Another unique aspect of this ride is that we ride together the entire distance as a team. We start together, we ride together and we finish together.

All crew and riders share in the accomplishment of the ride.

For actual updates on ride day, please check the live tracker on this website — it will be updated every 10 minutes. Our communications team will also be updating the Ride2Survive Facebook page, sending out live updates on Twitter, and adding many photos to new blog posts right here on this website!

We will also be sending out random live feeds from the road on Twitter's Periscope app (data signals permitting), so do keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for instant alerts.

Join us for the Yellow Mile and Welcome In Event
We would love to have everybody join us to support the riders as they come home along Scott Road from 72nd. Feel free to wear yellow!

The peloton pauses briefly at 72nd to move our cancer survivors (in yellow) to the front of the ride, and then they lead the entire group in a parade down Scott Road and into the Caps parking lot. The Delta Police Pipe Band will be playing as the riders come in.

If you come a little earlier for the Welcome-In event, we also invite you to support the local restaurants — The Cactus Club, Greek Village and the Keg all generously give up parking spots for our event, and the Cactus Club donates treats for the riders as they arrive.

Please note: There can be no alcohol at this event as it's a public space.
